Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Sila, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

Description of Service

Sila is a cycle tracking application that integrates Islamic fiqh rulings for menstruation (hayd), irregular bleeding (istihadha), postpartum bleeding (nifas), prayer status, and fasting obligations. The app provides guidance personalized to your selected madhab.

Sila is currently in a pre-launch waitlist phase. Features and availability are subject to change as we develop the product.

Not Medical or Religious Advice

Please read this section carefully.

Sila provides informational guidance based on published fiqh rulings from recognized scholars, including Ibn Uthaymin, Ibn Taymiyyah, and Ibn Qudamah. However:

  • Sila is not a substitute for consulting a qualified Islamic scholar, particularly for complex or edge-case rulings
  • Sila does not provide medical advice of any kind. Cycle predictions are estimates based on your logged data, not diagnoses.
  • You should consult a healthcare provider for any medical concerns related to your cycle or reproductive health
  • You are responsible for verifying rulings with a scholar if you have doubts about your specific situation

Account and Eligibility

To use Sila, you must be at least 13 years of age. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

You are responsible for maintaining accurate information in your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Each person may maintain only one Sila account.

Acceptable Use

When using Sila, you agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the application
  • Use the service for commercial purposes without our written permission
  • Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
  • Misrepresent the app's guidance as a formal fatwa or scholarly ruling
  • Use automated systems or bots to interact with the service

Intellectual Property

Sila, including its design, content, and underlying code, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The fiqh rulings referenced within the app are drawn from public scholarly works and are not our original content.

You retain full ownership of your personal data, including all cycle data and health information you enter into Sila.

Health Data Disclaimer

  • Cycle predictions are statistical estimates based on your logged data. They are not medical diagnoses.
  • Hayd and istihadha classifications are generated based on the rules of your selected madhab as documented by recognized scholars.
  • Individual cases may have nuances that require direct scholarly consultation.
  • We are not liable for worship decisions made based on the app's classifications. Users should exercise their own judgment and consult scholars when in doubt.

Limitation of Liability

Sila is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
